Two People In Fraudulent Affordable Government House Scheme Charged


A civil servant and businessman has been charged with an offence of receiving money from investors by pretending that they were in a position to help the purchase government funded houses located at Park Road, Ngara.

The accused Frederick Njenga and Sheila Kamathi are said to have received between Ksh 200,000 and 600,000 from persons interested in housing development.

“You are charged with defrauding diverse persons money in pretence that you can facilitate them acquire a house in in Affordable house in Park Road , Ngara something you knew to be untrue, ” Prosecution said.

The two appeared before Nairobi chief magistrate Wendy Michemi where the denied the criminal charges and were ordered to place a cash bail of Ksh 200,000 and two contact persons.

“The accused persons be released on bond if ksh 500,000 and a cash bail of ksh 200,000,they also be furnished with evidence prosecution may rely on,” Magistrate Micheni ordered.

The court has the an alternative of Ksh 500,000 bond plus one surerity

The matter will be mentioned on 28th November 2022 for pretrial.

According to the prosecution the accused persons are said to have committed the offence between 17 September 2021 and 15th March 2022

The second accused person is an employee of the government working at Huduma Centre.
