Two People Killed In Mathare Inferno
Two people have been confirmed dead in a morning inferno in Mlango Kubwa are in Mathare constituency.
The two according to the police are one child and one adult who were burnt beyond recognition.
A police report seen by Ghetto Radio states that the two bodies were found in the debris after the inferno had been put out by members of the public and the Nairobi Fire Brigade.
“…that unfortunately as the area was being combed through the debris two bodies at different location at the scene have so far been discovered one believed to be a minor that have been burned beyond recognition,” reads the report.
More than 50 houses were burnt down in the morning inferno while 500 people have been left homeless.
The victims of the inferno have blamed area leaders for failing to solve the perennial fire problems in the area.
Only nominated MCA Susan Makungu showed up at the scene promising to have roads leading to the slums constructed.
