TWO POLICE OFFICERS ARRESTED FOR ROBBING MACHAKOS UNIVERSITY STUDENT

Two Police Officers have been arrested for allegedly robbing a University student his mobile phone and other valuables.

Kevin Sila and his colleague David Muringu reportedly attacked the Machakos University students who alongside his colleague was headed to his rented house on a bicycle.

According to the police Sila and Muringu who were on a motorbike flagged down the two students and descended on them with slaps.

“The duo who were on a motorbike registration number KMTE 363W had flagged down the students in the wee hours of the morning before descending on one of them with resounding slaps as they ransacked his pockets,” the DCI stated on Twitter.

His roommate however managed to escape the attack and sounded an alarm on neighbours who happened to be fellow students.

“The students responded to the distress calls and rescued their fellow comrade from the wrath of the officer and his accomplice. Drama unfolded when the officer attempted to escape after handing back the stolen phone but it was too late as his colleagues from Machakos police station arrived and arrested him and his colleague.”

The two have been taken to the Machakos Police Station pending arraignment on robbery with violence charges.
