Two Primary School Pupils Killed In Grisly Accident


Two primary school pupils have died and one seriously injured following a road accident along the Awasi-Nandi Road, Muhoroni Sub-county.

According to Muhoroni Sub County Police boss David Miniu, the two Chemelil B1 primary school pupils of ages 12 and13 were on their way to school when the speeding vehicle from Awasi lost control, killing them instantly on Saturday morning.

Miniu added that the third pupil aged14, who survived , sustained major injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

“The saloon car was speeding from Awasi when it lost control and hit the three, killing two pupils aged 12 and 13 instantly,” said Muhoroni Sub County Commander Mr David Miniu.


He added that the driver who was trying to escape arrest sped off in the car knocking down three other pedestrians before fleeing the scene on foot.

“The three a man, lady and young boy sustained minor injuries and are currently recuperating at the Sub county hospital,” said Mr Miniu.

 According to Mr Miniu, the driver fled and is being sought.

Meanwhile, the saloon car has been towed to the Chemelil police station where two of the passengers have also recorded statements.

“We have launched a man hunt for the driver who is still at large, anyone with leading information should contact our offices,” said Mr Miniu.
