Two robbery with violence suspects arrested
Police have arrested two robbery with violence suspects in Nairobi.
The two, Martin Simiyu Wabale and Richard Wekesa wafula reportedly conned several people by luring them with a fake nursing job alert.
Police say that the two are members of a syndicate that operates by luring victims to lucrative job vacancies and after the victims show up they direct them to secluded areas whereby they rob them at gunpoint.
According to the police both Wabale and Wekesa mid last month lured one of the victims to a deserted place and robbed him off a mobile phone and other valuables.
“A member of the public was lured to a deserted street in Karen-Miotoni road where he was robbed off a mobile phone, a glucometer, a dust coat, cash among other valuables at gunpoint. The two suspects who fled from Nairobi after the incident were arrested at Kimilili in Bungoma County and are believed to belong to a wider,” said the police.
The two were arrested by police officers based in Langata and Karen police stations.
The conning scheme has apparently been going on for quite some time with various people raising complaints against the two suspects on social media.
“He conned me 17,000 surely ati ananiandika kazi kwa kanjoo, akanipeleka kwa hoteli akaniacha without paying the bill akaenda na pesa yote na simu within some minutes akaenda kureplace line kuangalia amekopa mshwari, amefulliza but the way we met tutapatana,” complained one social media user.
“Aki tusipatane, its better to return my money kwa mpesa ama ujue mkisii ndio kusema nn,” wrote another social media user.
