Victimizing police officers
Meanwhile a section of residents of Nyayo High-rise in Lang’ata have accused the Independent Policing Oversight Authority of victimising police officers who kill armed robbers.
The residents claim that the onslaught by IPOA on police officers has demoralized the police in their fight against crime.
A resident who spoke on condition of anonymity says that this has in turn brought back the high rate of crime in the area.
“I have lived in Nyayo High-rise for over a decade. There is a time we had a security Crisis but our police officers dealt with those armed thugs accordingly. But it is unfortunate that the crisis is back in full force, but our officers fear firing the armed robbers because IPOA will victimise them,” said a resident who requested for anonymity.
