U.S. Kids-NCBA Nairobi Local Tour

The fourth event of the U.S. Kids-NCBA Nairobi Local Tour was held today at Muthaiga Golf Club.

156 boys and girls aged between 5 and 18 years participated in the tournament.

Krish Shah of Vetlab Sports Club continued with the dominance of the Boys 15-18 years category with a gross score of 76.

Maryam Mwakitawa won the Girls 15-18 years category beating Antonia Mbuthia by one stroke.

Nathan Mwangi overcame the tough competition in the Boys 13-14 years category to win with as score of 76 gross followed closely by Calvin Opati with 77 gross.

Mohamed Mtsumi led the Boys 6 years and under with a score of 48 while Lynette Zawadi maintained the lead in the Girls 8 years and under category with a score of 48.

Speaking during the prizegiving ceremony, Muthaiga Golf Chairman, Mr. Ronald Meru noted the success of the Local Tours since the launch of the partnership with U.S. Kids Golf in late 2022 at the club.

He also appreciated the members for allowing the use of the course by the juniors and urged the incoming board to continue on with the initiatives aimed at promoting the development of golf.

The NCBA Bank Deputy Director and Head of Brands-Jacquie Muhati appreciated the parents for supporting the juniors in their journey of golf.

“The partnership with the Junior Golf Foundation and the U.S. Kids Golf is a critical and important one. NCBA will continue to support such opportunities to sharpen the skills and scale the heights of golf,” she said. 

She further invited the parents to sign up the junior golfers in the third and final tournament of the NCBA Junior Golf Series – 2022 Edition, which will be held on the 15th and 16th of December 2022 at Limuru Country Club.

The tour takes a break and resumes on Wednesday, 4th January 2023 at Royal Nairobi Golf Club
