UDA has swept about 95 percent of the Nairobi County Assembly seats held by Jubilee MCAs in the just concluded General Elections.
An analysis conducted by Ghetto Radio has revealed that about 30 seats all that were initially held by the Jubilee Party have gone to UDA.
Some of the wards swept by UDA include Waithaka, Malango Kubwa, Roysambu, Kahawa Wendani, Guthurai 45, Kawangware, South B, Dandora I, Dandora II, Mowlem, Komarock Umoja 1, Ngara among others.
Waithaka MCA elect Antony Kiragu applauded the Nairobi voters for electing UDA candidates.
“It’s a big win for UDA over Jubilee and we want to reiterate that this party called Jubilee died long time ago.So far what we have tallied is 31 UDA seats out of 85 wards,” Kiragu told Ghetto Radio News on phone.
He has however, been disappointed with the fact that they will not form majority at the County Assembly of Nairobi.
“We can not run from the truth we shall form the minority in the County Assembly of Nairobi…we are only 31 and there is no any other way we can make it to 42 which is the number needed to form the majority at the House,” Kiragu added.
