President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally appointed judges recommended to him by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) in 2019.
Out of the 40 judges, Uhuru appointed 34 leaving out six nominees.
The Head of State also declined to appoint Justices George Odunga, Weldon Korir, Joel Ngugi and Aggrey Muchelule to the Court Of Appeal.
He has referred the names of the rejected judges back to the Court of Appeal.
Uhuru’s move comes barely two days after he lectured the judiciary for nullifying the BBI case.
Apparently justices Odunga and Ngugi were among the five judge bench that nullified BBI terming it unconstitutional.
Uhuru’s move has caused uproar among Kenyans with man saying he does not have the constitutional power to reject the judges.
