President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolences to the families of the 14 Kakamega Primary School pupils who died on Monday evening following a stampede.
Uhuru who is out of the country also wished the injured children a quick recovery and ordered for a thorough investigation to establish the cause of the incident.
Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha yesterday stated that investigations into the incident were already going on but could however not say if the school will be closed.
Fourteen pupils died on the tragic incident and another 39 pupils were injured when a stampede occurred just when the pupils were leaving class for home.
Those who were injured were rushed and treated at the Kakamega Referral Hospital.
