President Uhuru Kenyatta has led Kenyans and other leaders in mourning Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama.
Nyagarama died today morning at the Nairobi Hospital from what is reported as Covid-19 related complications.
Uhuru has described Nyagarama as a gifted leader whose primary mission was to transform the lives of the people of Nyamira.
“I have learnt with profound shock and sadness of the death of Nyamira Governor, John Nyagarama. My family and I, and the National Government send our deepest condolences and sympathies to the late Governor’s family and Nyamira residents,” said Uhuru.
Deputy President William Ruto described Nyagarama as a progressive, steadfast and responsive leader.
“We are saddened by the loss of Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama, a selfless and formidable champion for devolution who was genuinely dedicated to public service,” said Ruto.
Raila described Nyagarama as a personal friend and partner in strengthening devolution.
“Nyagarama has been an extraordinary partner in strengthening devolution. I will forever cherish moments with him on duty and as personal friends. May His Soul Rest In Eternal Peace,” he said.
