Uhuru Accepts Formation Of Joint Select Committee
President Uhuru Kenyatta has accepted the opposition’s call for dialogue on the IEBC stalemate but has insisted that the talks must be held within the confines of the law.
Uhuru says he has agreed to the formation of a joint select committee consisting of parliamentarians from both the senate and the National Assembly to spearhead the talks.
Uhuru says this decision comes after he held consultations with religious leaders, Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi, Speaker of the senate Ekwe Ethuro.
Meanwhile CORD leader Raila Odinga has welcomed the move by the president terming it a positive development.
