Umoinner Matatu Crew Arraigned In Court


Ummoinner Matatu crew who were arrested for hanging dangerously on a matatu were yesterday arraigned in court…

The two, Driver Evans Muchemi and Conductor Leonard Katana were charged with four counts of failing to wear uniform, reckless driving, riding on dangerous position and failing to exhibit most recent photo of the driver.

The riding in dangerous position charge falls under the Traffic Act CAP 4.

They were arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts in front of Justice Mercy Kivuti.

Mutemi denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Ksh. 100,000 or a Ksh. 200,000 bond.

Katana on the other hand agreed to the charges and was given a cash bail of Ksh. 30,000.
