Union Clash with  Major  General Badi Over Workers’ Transfers

Nairobi County government Workers Union is now demanding a quick meeting with Director General Nairobi Metropolitan Services Mohammed Badi to iron out all workers’ issues before they are completely transferred to NMS.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio News, the union secretary-general Benson Oliang’a  has slammed  Badi’s move to issue employment letters to the transferred staff despite the union writing to him requesting for a meeting to solve the pending labour issues.

‘‘We wrote to him over our concerns  but he never responded  unfortunately what followed is an advert asking workers to go and pick letters  without us being involved.’’ He said.

Key issues highlighted by the union include pending promotions of the Nairobi county staffs, pension arrears owed by Nairobi county government as well as the legal mechanism on how the Union will get their monthly deductions from their members.

Meanwhile, Major  General Badi has made it absolutely clear that he is now in charge telling, off  Governor Mike Sonko over transferred workers.
