University Staff Union Vows To Expose Rot In Other Public Universities

The Kenya Universities Staff Union has called for quick investigations into an expose aired by Citizen TV detailing the loss of millions of shillings at the Masai Mara University.
KUSU Secretary General Charles Mukhwaya has also called for the dissolution of the Mara University Council all other public universities councils following the loss of more than Ksh. 190 Million at the Mara University.
‘We demand for dissolution of the Maasai Mara University council and investigation of all councils of public universities since they have become the vice chancellors ’ Trojan horses for plunder and pilferage of resources in public universities.’’ said Dr Charles.
Mukhwaya also wants the DCI, the EACC and the Ministry of Education to immediately investigate all public universities financial departments, university projects and managerial processes as they are violated by the Vice Chancellors.
The union has also declared its willingness to expose the rot in public universities as they claim Maasai Mara’s insident reflects on what has been happening in other universities.
‘We demand for witness protection to immediately be gratende to staff at Maasai Mara university who have or are willing to come out to give information to government agencies involved in the investigation of theis matter’ said the secretary union.
