Kolenyo residents Seme sub-county Kisumu are now in rude shock following the brutal murder of assistant chief John Olum of East Katie sub location.

Mr Olum was fished from his house by unknown assailants who killed him and thereafter dump his body in a ditch just nearby Kolenyo Police Station.

According to the residents they woke up Tuesday morning and found his body in a ditch.

“We are surprised with this heinous act we can’t properly explain what happened because we just woke up and found the body dumped here in a ditch  serious cuts and injuries all over.It is difficult to understand the motive behind this and we are asking the police to ensure that our security is paramount.We can’t be killed like chicken yet we have police officers here being paid by our taxes.If they have failed to protect even a government official who will protect us? It is not the way to go and we demand immediate action.” Lawrence Omoro  Kolenyo resident told Ghetto Radio News on phone.

“Mimi hata sijui tutaenda wapi Hawa watu wamekuwa wakituvamia na hakuna hata chochote kinafanyika polisi wanafuata watu wa changaa left right center na kazi ya kulinda sisi wameacha.” Another resident told Ghetto Radio News.

Security Lapses

Meanwhile residents have called on the area security officers to be transferred accusing them of laxity and neglect of duties.They say a woman was also killed in the same area and until now no arrests have been done.

“We must hold them  accountable. The incidents are too much and we now fear for our lives.” He said.
