Two suspected thugs were on Sunday morning gunned down by police in Malngo Kubwa area in Mathare Constituency.
The thugs were shot dead in the wee hours of the morning by police on patrol.
The killings have however caused an uproar amongst Mlango Kubwa residents who claim that the two were not thugs.
“One was even working at Safaricom. At the time of his death he was even wearing a Safaricom T-shirt. The other on owned a business in Mlango,” said Wangari a resident of Mlango Kubwa.
The residents claim the trend by police killing young men in the area over claims of crime have been going on since last year.
Last year Mlango Kubwa residents marched to the Pangani Police station demanding that the police stop the killings on young men in the area.
“We are afraid that the police are going to wipe out the young people in this area with the killings,” claimed Wangari.
