Uproar In Tanzania After Eric Omondi Is Named Temeke’s Ambassador
Tanzanian artist Mheshimiwa Temba has come out guns blazing to dispute the recent unveiling of Eric Omondi as a Brand Ambassador for Temeke by the local Mayor.
Mheshimiwa Temba questioned the criteria followed in picking the Kenyan comedian at the behest of local Stars who have been brought up in Temeke and understand their limitations.
“Tuna maroll model mi naweza nikasema wa kwangu mimi kuna icon wengi wa Temeke wanaweza kuwakilisha wakiwa kwenye swala la ubalozi na hawakuwahi kupewa, tunamwongelea Bwana Samatta, Yupo Kibra Sir Nature, yupo lnspekta Harun ni watu ambao wanarepresent Temeke siku mingi, sisi tumezaliwa huku changamoto tunazijua, sasa leo hii ukiniletea mgeni, ” said Tembe on his interview with Wasafi T.V.
The ‘Kulikoni’ rapper added that he was speaking on behalf of the aggrieved artists from Temeke who feared showing their disappointment through media.
“Ata wenzangu wengi hilo swali hilo swala la Temeke hawawezi kulikubali, unajua kuna wengine wanashindwa tu kuzungumza, tunaongea tu kwenye simu alafu kuliweka apa kwenye media wanashindwa kulizungumza,” he continued.
The dust is yet to settle even after the Mayor came forth and clarified that Omondi’s elevation for the position was only goodwill and no amount of cash was paid to him.
“Mamlaka muitumie kwa akili na muelewe… Mtu anaweza kuwa balozi na historia yake ya nyuma sio nzuri,” further added Temba.
His interview drew mixed reactions from social media users.
“Hivi watanzania tukoje mtu atoke Kenya aje kuchukua ubalozi wa kuitangaza Temeke huu usenge kweli cjui nani katuloga wabongo,” fired one Tanzanian.
“Because we Kenyans make things go viral,” Shot one Kenyan user.
