DJ Brown Skin has finally been released on bond of Ksh 200,000 with a surety of similar amount or alternative cash bail of Ksh 100,000 with one contact person.
The orders were issued by Chief magistrate Lucas Onyina after evaluation of the probation assessment report by the probation officer.
According to the report, DJ had a fixed place of residence and there for was not a flight risk.
” I have considered the probation report, the court take note that the accused person place of residence is known and fixed ,that then rules out the the fear that the accused person can flee the jurisdiction of this cour,” Magistrate ruled.
Not A Person of Means
The report also revealed that the DJ was not a person of means and the family had struggled to raise the cash bail.
The defence lawyer Duncan Okatch also informed the court that family of the victim was not opposed to release on bail or bond.
” I have personally together with probation officers reached out to the victims family and they recorded that theya are not opposed to the release of the accused person, it shows that they may been benefit more when the accused person is released than when detained.”
DJ Brown Skin was arrested on June 1 at a club in Kasarani after a video surfaced and went viral in April showing what appeared to be him recording his wife taking poison.
