Eliud Kipchoge’s incredible achievements extend beyond his dominance in Berlin.
He currently holds the marathon world record, a feat he accomplished with a staggering time of 2:01:9.
Just two days before the Berlin Marathon, Kipchoge revealed that he was feeling nervous.
However, he quickly added that his nervousness was a sign that he was fully prepared for the challenging task ahead.
“I am nervous,” the Olympic champion confessed. “But the nervousness shows I am ready for the big task on Sunday….” He said this in an interview.
Notably, Kipchoge’s journey to Berlin was not without its setbacks. In April of this year, he faced a rare defeat at the Boston Marathon, where he finished in sixth place.
This marked only the third time in his illustrious career that he had lost a marathon race.
The Boston Marathon victory went to Evans Chebet, who completed the race in 2 hours, 5 minutes, and 34 seconds.
