A woman has moved to court accusing her husband, a former Governor’s son, of not providing for their children.
Sluggard
She says the husband is sluggard and does not work for anything all he does is sleep, smoke, drink and play video games.
In court files, the woman says they were married in cozy multi-million wedding held at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies in 2015, but that the man later abandoned her and their three children and subsequently went back to his parents’ home.
The woman now wants the court to order the estranged husband to pay Ksh.112,000 for upkeep of their children.
This amount, she says, is to go towards offsetting the three minors’ monthly expenses as follows; Food (Ksh.60,000), Clothing (Ksh.10,000), Medical (Ksh.15,000), Electricity (Ksh.5,000), Water (Ksh.4,000), House help (Ksh.15,000), and Gas (Ksh.3,000).

She claims that despite the fact that the man was not employed even before he abandoned them, they never lacked anything as he allegedly benefited from family businesses.
Rejected Offers
According to petitioner, the former Governor’s son “has been refusing to get a job, turning down numerous job opportunities with flimsy excuses and spends all his time sleeping, smoking, drinking or playing video games.”
She argues that the man has adamantly failed to take up his parental responsibility and has now filed a case seeking to eject her from their matrimonial home, which she says would render the minors homeless.
On his part, while the former Governor’s son admits that he is indeed the father of the minors, he accuses the woman of not taking care of them.
In rejoinder, he urges that he has not been able to secure a gainful employment and moved out of their matrimonial home to get medical help as a result of serious depression allegedly caused by the mental and physical abuse from his estranged wife.
