History Of Friendship
Both Kartel and Mon Cherie share a long history of friendship.
Mon Cherie blew up thanks to her collaboration with Kartel “Gates Of Heaven” in 2017.
Their merger draws back from her earlier releases with Kartel.
Their song “Bay Bay” was released in 2015 and “Can’t Say No” in 2016.
“Cant Say No” went to feature on Kartel’s album, King Of Dancehall.
Mon Cherie feels that Kartel took her for a ride by giving her songs to another artist.
With many of her fans eager to know of their coming collaborations with Kartel.
Mon Cherie delivered her strained relationship with the dancehall icon over the alleged song theft.
“Dear Vybz Kartel, you have been playing me since day one because friends don’t treat each other like this. I’ve noticed that some of my songs that I have poured my heart and soul into have found their way in the hands of other artistes like Renee 6:30” she stated.
She later broke out into a song “My Own World” by Vybz Kartel, Likkle Addi and Renee 6:30 which was released in 2021.
Mon Cherie further disclosed how she invested heavily in the projects taken away from her.
She had paid for the studio fees and videos.
