The recently jailed dancehall Star Tommy Lee Sparta has dropped a song with the incarcerated fellow dancehall artist Vybz Kartel.
The song dubbed as ‘Dark Ages’ which features five full verses, has Vybz Kartel who’s also referred to as the ‘Worl Boss’ kicking off the opening verse and the hook to the song.
The next four verses are held by Tommy Lee Sparta, with a macabre delivery it’s hard to tell that indeed the artist is serving jail time for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
“Gwan like seh dem bad so/Darkness will rain/Dem rifle dem ya wiggle at you /Darkness will rain,” sings Kartel in the chorus.
Tommy Lee Sparta follows through switching flows and melodies giving the song a rich aura, it becomes hard to tell which of Tommy Lee’s verse stands out as he gives his best in all his verses.
The song “Dark Ages” is demonic in some sense, maybe illustrating the artist’s hard life while serving their sentences.
It has mentions of ‘Shadows, graves and demons. Fans of the two incarcerated Star’s have shown their support by flooding them with comments while also advocating for their release.
“Best song of di year and for years to come.#free World Boss&Sparta??????,” wrote Shuayb Brown.
“Only them can pull off such demonic Collabo”wrote Spartan Leng Drastic.Other fans also took chance to through shade at the Island’s Prime Minister, Andrew Holness who has in recent times has been fighting the dancehall vibe as a catalyst to the increasing crime wave.
“Ok guys let’s see if this will make the crime rate guh up????????” wrote Venuum Vevo.
