Vybz Kartel has thrown shade at his girlfriend’s critics who termed her ‘delusional’ for believing that he will be released from prison.
Through a video shared on his Instagram, Kartel is captured watching a previous interview conducted by his girlfriend while he was in prison.
His girlfriend, Sidem is also captured cozily enjoying her time on their king-size bed.

According to Kartel, many didn’t see him being released while terming Sidem’s efforts a waste of time.
“I remember when I was in prison, she did this interview and a lot of people were saying ooh she’s delusional, she’s this she’s that Kartel not coming out blah blah, look at us now” he stated.
13 Years Behind Bars
Kartel and his co-accused spent 13 years in prison for the 2011 murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.
Lizard was said to have met his death after he failed to return two unlicensed firearms to Kartel.
Lizard had been given the firearms for safekeeping. After his killing, his body has never been found.
They were sentenced to life imprisonment in 2014 with Kartel eligible for parole after serving 35 years in prison.
However, Kartel and his co-accused faulted their sentencing after it was discovered that one juror was bribed.
Kartel’s legal team led by Isat Buchanan put up a spirited fight before the UK Privy Council which affirmed that their sentencing was compromised.
By then, Kartel and the co-accused had spent years in prison with the former’s health conditions deteriorating.
Kartel had been found to be suffering from the Graves disease which resulted to his face swelling.
Following the ruling by the UK Privy Council the case was taken back before the Court of Appeal in Jamaica.
Initially, Kartel and his men applied for a Habeas Corpus seeking for their release which was turned down.
However, the dancehall icon and his men got released from prison on 31 July 2024 after the Court of Appeal declined to retry them in the Lizard’s case.
