Kartel’s legal team, led by his attorney Isat Buchanan put a spirited appeal arguing that a juror accused of bribing others during his client’s trial ought to have been disqualified.

However, they stayed put and delivered what is alleged to have been a “Coaxed life sentence”. The verdict is also said to have been delivered late in the day with deliberations taking place in the backroom.
