Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has said she will sue research firm IPSOS Synovate for releasing a survey report indicating that Kenyans perceive her as the second most corrupt in Kenya.
A report released by Ipsos on Wednesday stated that Kenyans believe that DP Ruto leads the pack with 33 per cent followed by Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru at 31 per cent with retired President Daniel Moi coming third with 17 per cent.
Addressing the media at Kagio town in Kirinyaga County, shortly after the report was unveiled, Waiguru rubbished the survey as political propaganda.
She further accused IPSOS of pushing a smear campaign against her.
Also named as corrupt is President Uhuru Kenyatta at 11 per cent, former president Mwai Kibaki and ODM Party leader Raila Odinga at five per cent.
But the survey shows that 51 per cent of Kenyans believe Uhuru is sincere in the fight against corruption.
Forty one percent of Kenyans said political protection was the greatest impediment to the graft war.
According to the poll, 59 percent of Kenyans also believe that the country is headed in the wrong direction.
Only 28 percent of Kenyans believe Kenya is headed in the right direction.
The survey was conducted between July 25 to August 2 2018.
