Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu today failed to appear in court for the hearing of his Ksh. 510m fraud case over Covid-19.
Waititu reportedly says he contracted Covid-19 and that the disease made him unwell and unable to attend court.
His lawyer John Swaka told the court that he had been told to isolate for 14 days.
Waititu’s wife Susan Wangari Ndung’u and the co-accused however appeared in court.
Waititu was charged alongside his wife and several others over Sh510 million fraud.
Magistrate Thomas Nzioki said the application for adjournment has merit and allowed it after looking at the results from Lancet.
Magistrate Nzioki however ordered for an investigation on the Lancet document presented by Waititu.
