Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu today made a surprise visit to former President Moi’s home in Kabarak Nakuru, County.
Waititu was part of the delegation from Mt. Kenya Region that had gone to condole with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi following the demise of his father and also discuss some pertinent issues concerning the Mt Kenya region.
The Mt. Kenya delegates included Kiambu Women Representative Gathoni Wamuchumba and Nyeri Senator Ephraim Maina.
During the meeting, Waititu promised to walk with Gideon Moi and help him with grassroot mobilisation of people.
“Gideon put on your shoes. I Will walk with you in Mt Kenya region. This a tsunami, many will be swept,” said the ousted governor.
Waititu who was impeached and quickly replaced by his deputy James Nyoro has been until his ouster an ardent supporter of Deputy President William Ruto
“I am a great foot soldier. Gideon you are a clean man, come we walk together. People will feel safe near you. I am safe near you,” he added.
Waititu’s swift change of tune might be seen by many as an effort to save his rather dying political career.
