Wanyama set to miss DRC Congo Friendly to allow the Skipper time to rest
Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama is set to miss the friendly against DRC Congo scheduled to be played on Tuesday at the Stade Des Martyrs in Kinshasa.
This is following an agreement between Tottenhum Hotspurs and Kenya’s technical benches to allow the skipper time to rest.
According to a statement by FKF “the decision was made in the player’s best interest, as the technical bench felt that it would not be in Victor’s best interest to play two matches in two continents in under 48 hours”.
The player was on Sunday named man of the match in Spurs 2-0 over Manchester City.
Four foreign based players ; Abud Omar Michael Olunga Ismael Gonzalez and Amos Esakahlie will link up with the team in DRC ahead of the match.
Stars left for DRC on Monday and jets back on Thursday.
