The word ‘Optimus’ is a Latin word for best Nyahururu based dancers ‘Optimourz Dance Crew’ seems to have coined the same definition for their outfit as they aim of showcasing  their choreography at the world’s most prestigious dance competition, the ‘world of dance’.

In a recent interview with Ghetto Radio News Team, The group maintained that they’re ripe for the challenge, attributing  it to their good run in previous dance championships.

Competitions tumeenda mingi sana, namba moja hadi tatu huwa hatukosi, kuna pia ile competition ilikuwa pale Nyahururu Stadium and we were second in the runners up… We wish one day to perform at the world’s most famed competition ‘world of dance‘,” they said.

Formed in early 2018, most of Optimourz Dance Crew members reside in Nyahururu town. The 25 member gang is divided into two categories, seniors and juniors. The senior team is made up of 8 members, with the junior team standing at 17.

Some of the challenges they face include lacking costumes and production materials.

Currently sai tuko 25 but divided into two groups, seniors and juniors. Seniors we are 8 in number and 17 juniors who we’re teaching, challenges mingi tunaface sai ni lack of uniforms, system ya zoezi, quality ya video yetu iko chini juu ya lack of camera,”they stated.

They came up with a monthly visitation at chosen children’s homes where they distribute basic needs such as food and clothing. This has been fruitful with the support of well-wishers.

Their role models are India’s The Kings Dance Movement and Kenya’s FBI Dance Crew.Interact freely with the group on social media networks, Facebook Optimourz dance crew, YouTube Optimourz dance crew and Instagram Optimourz dance crew.

As a man proclaims with his tongue, so shall he be granted, see you at the world stage.
