Kangemi’s underground talents Big Man Party have revealed that they sold scrap metals in order to record their first song as group in 2018.
According to the group, they earned 800 shillings from the sale of the scrap metals, studio cost was 1k.
The group made the revelation during an engagement with Ghetto Radio’s HoodCode host who toured their neighborhood in Kangemi.
The lads further noted that they came together after realizing that they were all gifted while hanging out in the same community.
“Tuliokota chuma, siunajua chuma, scrap metal baas tukachukuana si wote juu tunaogopa mwenye atapeleka tukachagua mwenye atapeleka (chuckles) tukampea akapeleka tukaingiza mia nane na tulikuwa tumeambiwa studio ni thao tulikuwa tumebakisha 2 soo tukaona tupee producer hii hiyo ingine tutakam tukamjenga tukarecord ngoma” they asserted partly.
They further disclosed that their first song was received quite well with one of their friend’s memorizing it and performing it as his during a talent search at their school.
They had to call him out since he was not part of their group.

Masters Of Fashion
While describing their hood, the group noted that Kangemians are known ‘Masters Of Fashion’ and talent hub.
According to the group, Eastlands rap talents are a pale shadow compared to them.
To show that they meant business, they proceeded to freestyle some of their sickest lines one after the other.
They further added that they hang out in large groups while enjoying each others company.
The neighborhood also boasts of graffiti plastered on walls affirming Hip hop’s deep-rooted culture.
