Nairobi county assembly leadership maintains that they will not allow Hon Beatrice Elachi back to the chamber as their speaker despite getting the orders from court reinstating her impeachment temporarily .
Speaking to journalists Minority Whip Peter Imwatok said the due process was followed to impeach her and that the assembly is ready to defend itself before any court.

According to Imwatok the assembly will not go over the same matter and that it will fight for its dignity.
‘‘We followed the constitution to impeach Elachi and its within the law to ammend standing orders depending on the mood of the house,’’ he said
He dismissed claims that the Nairobi county assembly is in total confusion saying they have an acting speaker together with acting clerk, following the departure of former clerk Jacob Ngwele who is set to appear in court over corruption allegations.
‘‘The assembly is well and on the run our board picked the acting clerk following departure of Ngwele and she is now the signatory of all financial matters in the assembly.’’ Imwatok added
