Mitumba traders in Gikomba now say they have not yet been able to import the Mitumba goods since the ban orders were lifted by the government.
According to Isabel Githinji from Mitumba Traders Association the bureaucracy brought by new covid 19 rules have made it difficult for them to get goods.
‘‘The business is down because we are not importing.. we are still trading on the stock we had but we hope by next month we shall receive what we have ordered,’ said.
Isabel further urged the government to relax some of the measures saying it will help to boost Mitumba business.
‘‘It is difficult to get goods you can imagine we have not received a single bunch up to this moment. A lot needs to be done but we appreciate the government’s effort to have us back in this business,” she added.
