Why The Eight Legislators Had To Be Driven In Court Under Heavy Security At 5.45 am
The eight politicians facing incitement charges were driven to Milimani Courts at 5.45 am under heavy GSU escort.
They were then placed in police cells awaiting opening of courts.
Reports indicate that the early morning ride to court was to avoid possible protests from their supporters.
“For avoidance of traffic and crowds, the MPs were driven to Milimani Courts at 5:45am. They are now in Court cells awaiting the hearing,” ODM Comunications Officers Philip Etale tweeted.
The politicians have been in police cells since Tuesday, they include Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and woman representatives Florence Mutua (Busia) and Aisha Jumwa (Kilifi).
The others are MPs Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati), Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba) and Junet Mohamed (Suna East).
