Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has warned schools asking parents to buy sanitizers for their children.

Magoha who was on an inspection tour in Kibera today warned that the move might create a situation where the sanitizers will be used for other things in school.

“The situation where teachers are asking students to bring large quantities of sanitizers shall not be allowed, because we don’t want to have a situation where you have too much sanitizers which will be used for other things,” said Magoha.

The CS has however advised parents to buy face masks for their children who will be going back to school on Monday.

The government reopened schools after more than nine months of closure due to the coronavirus pandemnic.

The CS has also asked schools to be lenient with parents who might not afford to pay school fees for their children following the effects of the pandemic.

Already some schools have increased school fees for learners after several months of closure.
