William Ole Ntimama aged 86 died at his rural home in Narok Thursday night, according to police quoting the family.
He is reported to have died peacefully in his sleep.
Police said the body was transported to the Lee Funeral Home, Nairobi Friday morning.
As a former Narok North Member of Parliament, Ntimama was an influential Maasai leader who was widely respected—having been in government and politics for long.
Among his last public appearances was at State House, Nairobi on August 9 when he led a group of Maasai leaders to join the Jubilee Party.
