Public servants with outstanding performances were today awarded in the annual Ombudsman awards.

Among the many officials who were awarded include George Natembeya, the county commissioner of Isiolo, David Kipng’eno Chumo of the traffic department Bomet and the officer in charge at the Langata Women’s prison Olivia Obel.

Obel was awarded for bringing great developments and making women’s stay at the correctional facility comfortable and friendly.

Obel says she still has a lot to do to make those women who get out of the centre acceptable in the society.

Among her planned initiatives include looking for partnerships  that will provide guiding and counseling services to them and also educating the community.
