A family in Nairobi has moved to court to seek help after her daughter and her two children went missing in October.
Elizabeth Malombe claims that her daughter Joyce Syombua went missing after she went to visit her former husband Peter Mugure in Nanyuki.
According to Malombe, her daughter was trying to respect a court ruling that had granted the father of the children access to the babies by taking them to him to Nanyuki.
“After a children’s court in Milimani Law Courts granted Mugure access to the babies, Mugure requested my daughter Joyce to take the babies to him in Nanyuki so that he can hold a birthday for the first born,” narrated Joyce.
“So Joyce left Nairobi for Nanyuki on 25th of October, upon reaching Nanyuki, she texted me and told me that she arrived safely with the children,” she continues.
Malombe says that, that was the last time she heard from her daughter.
“I tried calling her on Saturday but she did not pick, i then left her a text message asking her if she was coming back on Sunday because she had told me that she was coming back Sunday, she did not respond,” she says.
The husband however claims that she put Joyce and her children in a bus back to Nairobi after the birthday party and has no idea of what might have transpired after incident.
Malombe now says that she wants the court to give a final ruling on the custodial issue that she claims is the reason why her daughter and grandchildren are missing.
She has however reported the three at the Soweto police station as missing persons.
