A middle-aged woman who allegedly hired a hit man to execute her friend’s business partner has been charged for conspiracy to commit murder.
According to the state on diverse days between 1st July and 1st August 20254, Winfred Wandia colluded with others not in court conspired to kill Antony Maina Mutahi.
The accused person denied the charges as read in court and was released on a cash bail of ksh 300000.
Her defence lawyer pleaded with the presiding magistrate Susan Shitubi to admit the accused person to a lenient bond terms.

In his submissions, the lawyers told the court that the Wandia was a person of megger means and hefty bonds terms would amount to denial.
He added that Wandia is a single mother with a seven year-old child who depends on her for upkeep.
The prosecution will present three witnesses to testify in the case.
