Manchester City legend, Yaya Toure believes that Pep Guardiola’s side could experience a slight drop in form during the 2023-2024 Premier League season.
Toure also compared Man City’s 2023/2024 campaign to that of Barcelona’s treble winning 2009 side, of which he was a part of the team.
Man City had the best campaign in their history as they won the treble during the 2022/2023 season.
The Citizens won the Premier League title ahead of Arsenal, won Inter Milan in the Champions League final and defeated Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
“We won everything and then we had a bit of a downfall. But that is normal for human beings, you have to have the right motivation. Sometimes it is the leader, the head coach.
“We tried to put the same commitment and desire in again, because it’s not easy to repeat. It’ll be difficult but [Manchester] City already has the experience of winning the [Premier] league year-after-year,” Toure told Daily Mail.

Four clubs that can challenge Mancity’s title according to pep
Manchester City head coach, Pep Guardiola, has named four clubs that could challenge his team for the Premier League title this season.
Guardiola’s side are widely regarded as the favorite to retain the Premier League title this season despite Arsenal’s strong start to the campaign.
Man City are currently in the second position on the Premier League table behind leaders Arsenal.
However, Guardiola believes the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Liverpool are all in the title race.
“Arsenal is already there, many years [they] weren’t there,” Guardiola said as quoted by Manchester Evening News ahead of Man City’s clash with Liverpool on Sunday evening.
“Patient with Mikel [Arteta], he changed not just the team, he changed the club. A fact is a contender, Tottenham will be there, Chelsea and Liverpool as well.”
“What happened the previous seasons, Liverpool, Jurgen [Klopp] might not see it now, but I always see them as a contender.
“If two months left. I’d say maybe too late. Just one-quarter of the season. Lots of games to play, many things can happen.”
Mbappe reveals the clubs he will play for
Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe has said he would never play for Tottenham Hotspur in his life.
Mbappe stated this in an interview with Jonathan Veal.
The France forward is being linked with a move to Real Madrid next year, having failed to force a move out of PSG in the summer of 2021.
The 22-year-old has also been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United. However, one Premier League club he won’t feature for is Spurs.
“I’m sure Spurs will make something good this season with Antonio Conte, because he’s a great manager.
“So it’s good for them, but I don’t think I will play for Tottenham in my life,” Mbappe said.
Mbappe’s current deal at Parc des Princes expires in June 2022.
