Sancho’s Debut

Yoro, an 18-year-old French defender, was put in central defense alongside Jonny Evans, a man twice his age, just two days after signing. United supporters were especially excited to see Sancho, who made his playing debut following his fallout with manager Erik ten Hag last season.
The 24-year-old Sancho helped Borussia Dortmund go to the Champions League final after spending the latter part of the previous season on loan there. After complaining on social media that Ten Hag had unfairly used him as a “scapegoat” when he was benched for a game against Arsenal, he was placed on the sidelines at United. In August of the previous year, during a victory over Nottingham Forest, Sancho made his final appearance for United as a substitute.
The first goal came from Diallo, who cut in from the right wing and beat Jack Butland with a low effort in the 39th minute. In the second half, Ten Hag substituted a bunch of very inexperienced players for his whole outfield lineup.
Joe Hugill, a 20-year-old, scored United’s second goal in the 70th minute when he sent the ball in off the underside of the crossbar. On August 16, the team plays its first Premier League match at Old Trafford against Fulham.
As United gets ready for the next Premier League season, this game offered a sneak peek at their possible starting lineup and new additions. Fans are excited to see how Ten Hag will lead the squad.
