On Sunday parents of Kitengela International School stormed KNEC offices is Nairobi demanding answers on errors on their children’s results.

According to the parents their children did not get the expected grades.

“We truly believe that those do not reflect the abilities of our kids, we are 100 per cent sure those are not our results. It can’t be that a school that has been number 1 in the country for the last three years all of a sudden in two years’ time we don’t have top performers,” Samuel Nderitu, a parent, said.

“To me as a parent representing the parents, I believe that this is a sincere injustice to the children of Kitengela International as indicated here and also to the children of other schools in this nation,” Claudia Okumu added.

Educationists Assertion

According to seasoned education analyst Janet Muthoni Ouko the hurry to mark the exams was the genesis of the discrepancy witnessed and in deed KNEC  owe Kenyans an explanation.

Ouko poke holes in KNEC top management saying there is incompetency.

“There was no hurry to release the exam in the time that they did the Ministry could just take its time because we had a record of 1.4 candidates. we can not gamble with such a number and making corrections here and there and defending a wrong. Even at the time of the release the SMS number that was suppose to relay the results failed and the whole country was held at ransom for about half an hour I mean they..must take responsibility from the top.” Ouko told Ghetto Radio News on phone.
