“We are hosting a basketball tournament and clinic on Saturday. We are awarding two full scholarships to two players from the age of 12-17. This is an opportunity for you. Just like the players who got scholarships last year this might be your chance as well,” said Omondi.

The matches will commence from 8am to 1pm. From 1pm to 6pm Men’s and Women’s basketball finals will be played which include players aged 18 and above.

The winning team of the Women’s basketball tournament stands to win Ksh50,000 along with a trophy and medals.

“We are also encouraging adult players to show up for the tournament on Saturday. Since these players qualify for the college level, we will take some footage of the best players and send them to colleges abroad and they will be able to offer scholarship opportunities. So we urge them to play hard because there are opportunities available for them as well,” said Omondi.

The event will also include fun activities that will include slam dunk contests, shooting and dribbling competitions and a dancing contest as well for the teenagers.

“We will also host dunk contests and shooting and dribbling competition just to make the event even more fun. We will also host a dancing competition for teenagers and whichever child that will win shall receive Ksh10,000 just for encouragement. You never know, it might just be you we’re talking about so do not miss,” added Mr. Omondi.
