A group of youth from Mathare’s Ngei ward working on the Nairobi beautification programme are a disappointed lot.
The youth majorly made up of women claim that since their recruitment to clean up the streets of Nairobi county four months ago, they have only been paid one month salary.
Speaking to Ghetto Radio they are pleading with the Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko to honour the promise he gave last week on Tuesday that they would receive their dues immediately.
The delayed salaries have dealt them a blow with some of them facing the risk of being kicked out of their houses.
