Julius Yego qualifies for Javelin finals at Rio Olympics
Self tought “Youtube man” Julius Yego automatically secured a place in the Javelin finals after a performace that saw him land 83.55 meters at the Rio Olympics on Wednesday.
Yego’s first throw was just 78.88 meters which was short of the required 83 meters mark as the qualifying mark for the finals. The first throw left him in the brink of elimination but he was able to overcome with the second throw.
He finished in sixth place and will now compete in the finals on Saturday joining 11 other competitors.
