Kenyan superstar Fatuma Zarika is ready to defend her title as WBC Super Bantam Weight champion in Mexico three weeks from now as she undergoes intense training in preparation despite all the odds against her.
It has been hard for Zarika ever since her title sponsor SporPesa closed shop in the country with expenses to expenses leaving her with nothing else to do but try to balance.
“When Sportpesa was in the country it was easy for me to operate but now i have to think about my children and how am going to take care of them.” she says.
Zarika has not received any help from the government despite being the WBC champion which has put the country on the map in terms of boxing having retained the title for three years.
“I call on to the fans for their support ahead on this fight and despite all the challenges we have to go to Mexico and represent the country.” she adds.
