Tanzanian singer Zuchu has hit yet another milestone on her Instagram as she has hit the 5 million followers mark becoming the most followed female artist in the platform in East Africa.
The achievement by the singer was announced by her record label that sent its gratitude to her fans for the big win.
“Thank You For 5M Followers On @instagram 👏” the message read on Instagram.
Zuchu whose real name is Zuhura Othman Soud is slowly taking the crown as the biggest artist in the continent as she is slowly joining the league of other major female stars such as Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade.
She recently issued a warning saying that she does not want to be compared to other female musicians.
In a post, she said that no other female artist in the East African region had talent comparable to hers and that it would be unjust to compare her to any other lady.
She argued on saying that it would be best to compare her with the male artists given her skilled song writing abilities.
“Don’t compare me to other female artists.Nawashukuru Wazazi wangu ni kwa ajili yenu na Uwezo wa Mungu tu. Kwa uandishi wangu yafaa kuwekwa kwenye ligi za wanaume wadada wenzangu ntawaonea tu. Respectfully my pen game hard I could write for a guy and not notice. Releasing two songs this month,” Zuchu said.
Her remarks were not taken lighlty by her fellow Tanzanian female artists and they retaliated online.
Ruby responded to Zuchu’s statement by saying that she doesn’t need to make music every month because one song would be enough for the entire year.
“Ngoma zenu 10 kwa mwezi ndo ngoma yangu 1 kwa mwaka. Hayaaa mic mic mic 🎤 🎤🎤Nataka niimbe Tai chi live 🥷😉,” Ruby wrote.
