Zuchu turns down a 20 billion deal
Tanzanian musician Zuchu has turned down a 20 billion deal with a beer company because her mother requested her not to advertise alcohol.
The musician said that she refused the deal because her mother had asked her not to advertise alcohol in her career.
The ‘sukari’ hit maker added that she also does not take alcohol hence cannot advertise it because one must drink as they advertise.
“unapotangaza kinywaji ni lazima ukinywe na mimi si mtumiaje wa hizo vinywaji. Na pia mama yangu aliniomba akaniambia katika vyote nakuruhusu ufanye vyote lakini pombe usije ukatangaza. Lakini pia mimi ndani yangu pia si kitu ningependa kukirepresent,” said Zuchu.
Zuchu said that the deal went straight to their boss Tanzanian musician Diamond Platinumz who bargained the deal on her behalf.
She however said that her bosses are good people since they supported her decision when she refused to advertise the brand.
“Hiyo deal unajua ilitmwa kwa boss Simba mwenyewe na hata yeye ndio alibargain hiyo deal pekee yake. Lakini nashukuru maboss wangu ni watu wa kutuelewa kwa sababu wanaelwa kamahutaki kitu kwa sababu ya dini wanakusupport. Although najua nimewadissapoint kwa sababu ilikuwa deal ya pesa kubwa lakini nashukuru management kwa sababu walisupport,” added Zuchu.
The ‘nyumba ndogo’ hit maker said that the Wasafi Classic Baby record label is a family because they help each other in time of need.
During a previous interview, WCB Manager Sallam SK revealed that Zuchu is being paid Ksh 2 million for international shows.
“Bei yake sahi imebadilika haiko tena ishirini iko dollar elfu ishirini. Local shows tunaweza ongea lakini haiwezi kupungua sana,” said Sallam SK.
The manager also revealed that they do marketing for their musicians in order for their demand to grow in the industry which results to increase in charges for performance. Zuchu revealed that the Wasafi.
