Fast rising Kibra bred female rapper, Shanty Bobo formerly referred to as Shanty Flames has revealed that her surging lyrical prowess is a threat to A list female rappers who fear being dethroned.

Through a recent online engagement, she maintained that there’s a concerted effort to dim her light from the mainstream world.

“Kama we ni mnoma wasee hukucheck ata unapata ma female rapper sahii wanaangalia kwa game wanaona yeah ndio huyu Shanty na huyu Shanty akishikilia tu hii game fiti wote wanasahaulika na hio ni reality si ati ni kitu jokes so unapata most of the people watakangi like kukuongelea sana wanataka ukae ka we ni underground artist na we ni artist already we ni brand so wasee hujaribu kukukanyagilia” She said partly

Shanty Bobo further disclosed that her musical talent was greatly influenced by her father who’s also a rapper despite the latter not being widely known.

She has had to wade through a difficult life in the sprawling slums of Kibra, from gang life ,drugs to early teenage pregnancies among other stumbling blocks.

She further added that even though she’s sorrounded by various impediments, giving up is not in her dictionary with her family being her biggest cheerleader.

“Penye nimetoka hakuna msee ako allowed ku give up, giving up is a sin,my family ndio inanifanyanga nisi give up” she continued partly.

No Collaborations

Shanty Bobo added that she has put on hold doing collaborations to concentrate on solo projects.

She also downplayed the notion that Kenyan music doesn’t pay adding that it’s a matter of working smart and being business oriented.

“Music ukijituma tu fiti na ukuwe na mind ya kufanya business utaanza tu kuget vitu zikihappen” she stated

From a tiny school girl who bumped into the musical scene with the Shamra shamra refix two years ago,Shanty Bobo’s star has continued to shine day by day.

She’s currently riding high with the song,Sherehe a collaborative piece with Odi Wa Murang’a as well as Queen Speech with Femi One.
