A concerned citizen has raised an alarm about draconian schemes by the Kenya Revenue officers colluding with DCI officers to extort money from taxpayers.
In an open letter to President William Ruto, the whistle-blower revealed that DCI officers slowly been returned to the KRA offices despite the earlier orders to remove them.
The whistle-blower alleged that rogue officers colluded with the KRA officials to summons and tax liabilities to extort the gullible taxpayers falsely.
The letter adversely mention KRA Commissioner General Hamphrey Mulongo Wattanga and DCI Director Muhammed Amin to be leading plan redeployed DCI officers back KRA offices.
“It is disheartening to hear that the very system designed to ensure fairness and accountability is being expoloited in ways to undermine public trust and the rule of law.” The letter reads in parts.
The letter further revealed that a colusom amount of money are being siphoned to individual accounts of the KRA officer.
The letter goes a head to to reveal a well choreographed scheme by the KRA official colluding with taxpayers to fraudulently evade tax.
He recommended the DCI officer to be domiciled at their requisite officer and only conduct independent investigations.
He further proposed a sharp scrutiny of the KRA officers leading a lifestyle beyond their pay by the investigative agencies like the EACC and DCI.
